The Department of Counseling, Leadership and Educational Studies at Winthrop University is seeking an innovative, visionary leader for a department that serves approximately 200 undergraduate majors and 200 M.Ed. and M.A.T. graduate students. The eight programs housed in the department include the areas of counseling, educational leadership, family and consumer sciences, middle level, secondary/P-12 (MAT), and special education along with core areas of diversity, educational research, and educational technology.

The Richard W. Riley College of Education enjoys a strong reputation in the preparation and advancement of quality educators for South Carolina and across the country. As an NCATE-accredited institution and a member of the National Network for Educational Renewal, Winthrop University maintains close working relationships with area schools as well as a number of state and community agencies. The university enjoys close proximity to Charlotte, NC (approximately 20 minutes from downtown), high quality local schools, and an affordable cost of living.

Position is 10.5 month, full-time, tenure track. Salary is commensurate with rank of associate professor or full professor.

Position Availability: August 1, 2010
