The College of Education and Human Services at Wright State University invites applications for the position of Teacher Education Department Chair. As a line administrator, the Chair reports directly to the Dean, ensuring high quality academic programs and efficient daily management of department activity. The Chair’s responsibilities include oversight of curriculum and accreditation, faculty and staff recruitment, development, and evaluation, governance, planning, scheduling, and budget. The Chair leads the department in addressing the University/College mission and goals, while serving as advocate for the department and its contributions to the University and its community/school partners.
Required qualifications: Doctorate in area of teacher education or related field; record of accomplishments in teaching, scholarship, and service commensurate with the TED bylaws for rank of tenured associate or full professor; evidence of strong organizational and leadership skills, commitment to shared governance and collaboration, and ability to guide change within a complex environment.
Preferred qualifications: previous administrative experience, involvement in National Network for Educational Renewal initiatives or other partnership efforts, teaching experience in K-12 schools.
Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.
